OverviewPrivacy policyTerms of serviceSoftware licensingContact

This page applies to products on this site, their websites, and related services provided by BarkOnTrack LLC. A product-specific notice or software license may provide additional terms.

We use plain-language summaries where possible, but the complete sections below control.

Privacy Policy

Our Privacy Approach

We design our products to collect as little personal information as practical. App content stays on your device unless you choose PuppyOnTrack synchronization or provide information in a support request. Products and features that are local-only do not send your local content to us.

We do not sell personal information for money. We do not intentionally send names, email addresses, pet-care records, task titles, notes, file contents, file names, file paths, or other user-entered content to Google Analytics.

Information We May Collect

Depending on the product and features you use, we may collect:

  • Information you provide, such as an email address or support message.
  • Optional product analytics, such as a pseudonymous client or app-instance identifier, app version, operating system, device type, session information, approximate location derived from an IP address, and aggregate app-use measurement such as daily active-user counts.
  • PuppyOnTrack synchronization information: a device identifier generated when the app is installed, pairing-group information, and the pet-care records you choose to synchronize.
  • Advertising information in ad-supported apps, such as advertising identifiers, ad interactions, device information, IP address, and approximate location, as handled by Google AdMob and subject to your consent and device settings.

Analytics Choices

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate product use and improve features. The website also uses Umami to measure visits and link clicks without tracking cookies. Umami starts without waiting for a Google Analytics opt-in. Where explicit consent is required, website Google Analytics begins only after you choose yes in the cookie notice. Our apps provide applicable consent flows. Elsewhere, website Google Analytics may begin by default, with a clear choice to turn them off. If you decline or turn Google Analytics off, we do not intentionally send new website Google Analytics events from that browser. A supported Global Privacy Control signal also keeps website Google Analytics off. Umami page-view and link-click measurement remains active regardless of this choice or signal; we do not add account identifiers or personal profile fields to Umami events.

Google Analytics may process a pseudonymous client or app-instance identifier, session statistics, device and browser information, and approximate location. We use it to measure aggregate app use, including daily active-user counts. We do not intentionally use Google Analytics to collect the content you create or store in our products.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

When website analytics are enabled, this website uses cookies or similar technologies to measure product use. Our apps and their providers may use local storage, software development kits, pixels, IP addresses, and random device, client, or app-instance identifiers to remember choices, measure product use, provide security, and deliver or measure ads, as described in the applicable product notice. Declining or turning off website analytics prevents new Google Analytics events from this browser.

Google AdMob may place or read identifiers and use IP addresses or similar technologies when an ad-supported app displays or measures ads. The product's consent flow and your Google or device settings control whether eligible ads may be personalized.

Advertising Choices

BarkOnTrack, PuppyOnTrack, and SpoonDo are free, advertising-supported apps that use Google AdMob. Their consent flows explain the choices available before or when ads are enabled.

Personalized advertising is used only through Google AdMob and only where permitted by law, your consent, and your Google or device settings. We do not work with other advertising networks. You may be able to disable personalized ads or choose non-personalized ads through the app's consent controls or your Google or device settings, where available.

Hosted Products and DigitalOcean

PuppyOnTrack uses DigitalOcean infrastructure only to synchronize pet-care records between devices that a user has paired into a group. It does not require an account. A device identifier generated on installation and stored locally helps associate a device with its pairing groups.

We use safeguards designed to protect synchronized data in transit and at rest. No security control can guarantee absolute protection. Other products do not send local product content to DigitalOcean merely because BarkOnTrack LLC uses DigitalOcean for PuppyOnTrack synchronization.

Service Providers and Sharing

We disclose information only as needed to operate products, honor your choices, comply with law, protect users and services, or complete a corporate transaction. Depending on the product, providers may include:

Certain disclosures to Google AdMob for personalized advertising may be treated as a sale or sharing under some U.S. state privacy laws even though we do not sell information for money. You can opt out through the product's consent controls, Google or device advertising settings, or by contacting us.

If applicable law gives you a right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, email hello@barkontrack.com with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share". We honor a qualifying Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as an opt-out preference signal where required by law. Product-specific consent controls may provide a faster way to apply the choice to that product.

  • Google Analytics for aggregate product analytics in BarkOnTrack, PuppyOnTrack, SpoonDo, and Diskloom.
  • Google AdMob for ads in BarkOnTrack, PuppyOnTrack, and SpoonDo.
  • DigitalOcean for PuppyOnTrack synchronization.
  • Apple, Google, GitHub, and payment providers when they distribute products, process purchases or donations, or host source code and downloads.
  • Ko-fi when you choose to support Tylor Mayfield through a donation link; Ko-fi independently processes that transaction under its own terms and privacy policy.

Retention

Retention is product- and feature-dependent. We keep identifiable information only for as long as reasonably needed to provide the feature you requested, maintain security, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce agreements.

PuppyOnTrack synchronized pet-care records are retained until a deletion request is fulfilled. Linked synchronization data is deleted on request, and affected backups are purged within seven days. For standard Google Analytics 4 properties, user-level and event-level data is configured for no more than 14 months; Google may retain aggregated reporting data for longer. Support communications are retained only while reasonably useful for support, security, or legal needs.

Deletion and Privacy Rights

You may request access, correction, deletion, or portability of personal information associated with you by emailing hello@barkontrack.com. PuppyOnTrack users may request deletion of linked synchronization data; affected backups are purged within seven days. You may also object to or restrict certain processing and withdraw consent for future analytics or personalized advertising through available product settings.

Include enough information for us to locate the relevant account or request, but do not send passwords or unnecessary sensitive information. An authorized agent may submit a request for you; we may ask for proof of authority and take reasonable steps to verify the request. We may retain limited information where required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or the establishment or defense of legal claims. Information controlled independently by an app store, Google, GitHub, or another provider may need to be managed through that provider.

We aim to respond within the period required by applicable law. If we deny a privacy request, you may ask us to review the decision by replying to our response or emailing hello@barkontrack.com with the subject line "Privacy appeal". We do not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.

Notice at Collection

When we ask you to provide personal information through a form, account flow, or hosted feature, we provide or link to notice of the categories collected, the purposes for collection and use, and this Privacy Policy at or before collection. We do not use personal information for a materially different purpose without providing any notice or choice required by law.

International Processing

BarkOnTrack LLC and its providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers rely on recognized safeguards or other lawful transfer mechanisms provided by the applicable service provider.

EEA and UK Privacy Information

If EEA or UK data-protection laws apply to our processing, BarkOnTrack LLC is the controller of the personal information described in this policy. Depending on the feature, we process information to provide a requested service, pursue our legitimate interests in operating and securing our products, comply with legal obligations, or with your consent. You may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, object to processing, receive portable data, withdraw consent, and lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. Contact hello@barkontrack.com to exercise these rights.

Children's Privacy

Our products are intended for adults and are not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided information may contact us to request review and deletion.

Product-Specific Disclosures

A product's in-app notice, store disclosure, repository documentation, or separate policy may provide more specific information and controls. If a product-specific disclosure conflicts with this general policy, the more privacy-protective statement applies unless the disclosure clearly explains why a different practice is necessary.

Diskloom processes filesystem scans, duplicate comparisons, hashes, and benchmark files locally. Its optional Google Analytics use does not include paths, filenames, file contents, hashes, drive names, or benchmark results. Diskloom does not require an account or upload scan results to BarkOnTrack LLC.

SpoonDo may let you record energy, pacing, task, or optional wellness check-in information. This information stays on your device and is not sent to Google Analytics or Google AdMob as user-entered content. It is intended to help you organize your own routines and is not used to provide medical care, diagnosis, treatment, or emergency services. Do not use SpoonDo for urgent or emergency needs; contact local emergency services or a qualified professional when immediate help is needed.

BarkOnTrack lets you record pet care, medication, health, and veterinary information for your own organization. Its records stay on your device. PuppyOnTrack lets you record the same unified pet-care record and, if you choose synchronization, sends it to DigitalOcean so paired group members can access the records for animals in that group. These apps are not veterinary advice, diagnosis, treatment, or emergency services. Confirm care and medication decisions with a qualified veterinarian, and contact an emergency veterinary service when a pet needs urgent attention.

The Share tool processes selected files and camera images in the browser or offline page memory and transfers file data through QR codes between devices. Files are not uploaded to or retained by BarkOnTrack LLC through that tool, but anyone who can view the QR codes may be able to receive the transferred data. Use it only for files you are authorized to share and avoid displaying sensitive files in public.

Terms of Service

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using our apps and websites, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the services.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use our services. If you are not old enough to enter a binding agreement where you live, a parent or legal guardian must review and accept these terms for you.

Use of Services

You may use our services only lawfully and may not interfere with their operation or security, misuse another person's account or data, probe or bypass access controls, introduce malicious code, or use a service to violate another person's rights.

Software Licensing and Source Availability

BarkOnTrack LLC owns its software, content, and documentation unless a product notice states otherwise. Products expressly designated as open source are governed by the license included with that product. That license, rather than these Terms, controls your rights to use, inspect, modify, and redistribute the licensed code.

Our preferred permissive license is the MIT License, which allows use, modification, and redistribution, including commercial redistribution, when the required copyright and license notice is preserved. Product names, logos, and other BarkOnTrack LLC branding are not licensed merely because software code is licensed.

If source code is not publicly posted, you may ask whether source code or technical information can be provided by emailing hello@barkontrack.com. Availability may depend on the product, version, third-party rights, confidentiality, security, and support status. A request does not itself grant rights beyond the license or product notice that accompanies the software.

Your Content and Hosted Features

You retain ownership of content you submit to a hosted product. You grant BarkOnTrack LLC a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, transmit, back up, and display that content only as reasonably needed to provide and secure the requested features. You are responsible for having the rights needed to submit the content and for maintaining appropriate independent backups.

Indemnification

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless BarkOnTrack LLC and its owners, employees, and contributors from claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising from your unlawful use of a service, your violation of these Terms, or content you submit that infringes another person's rights. This does not require you to indemnify us for our own misconduct or where applicable law does not allow it.

Device, File, and Benchmark Operations

Some products inspect local storage, create temporary files, measure hardware performance, or let you move or delete files. Review selections carefully, maintain backups, and do not run storage benchmarks on devices where additional writes, temporary space use, heat, battery consumption, or performance impact would be unacceptable. We cannot guarantee recovery of files or the accuracy or comparability of benchmark results.

Advertising, Payments, and Donations

A product may be supported by Google AdMob advertising. Available consent, personalization, ad-free purchase, or disablement options are described in the product and Privacy Policy.

Paid features may be processed by an app store or payment provider and are subject to its billing, cancellation, and refund rules except where law requires otherwise. Donations made through Ko-fi are processed by Ko-fi under its own terms and payment rules. Donations are voluntary, do not purchase ownership or special support rights, and are non-refundable except where required by law or the applicable payment provider's rules.

Third-Party Services

Products may rely on app stores, GitHub, Google Analytics, Google AdMob, DigitalOcean, payment processors, or other identified providers. Their terms and policies govern their independent services. BarkOnTrack LLC is not responsible for third-party services or changes to their availability.

Medical Disclaimer

Our apps and content are for informational and organizational purposes only and do not constitute medical, health, or professional advice. Always seek the advice of a qualified healthcare provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition or treatment.

Disclaimers

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not promise uninterrupted operation, error-free results, permanent availability, or that a product will meet every requirement.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BarkOnTrack LLC and its owners, employees, and contributors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, revenue, profits, goodwill, or business interruption. Our total aggregate liability arising from a service will not exceed the greater of US $100 or the amount you paid BarkOnTrack LLC for that service during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Suspension and Termination

You may stop using a service at any time. We may suspend or terminate hosted access when reasonably necessary to address a terms violation, security risk, legal requirement, nonpayment, or material harm to a service or another person. Open-source rights already granted remain governed by the applicable open-source license.

Governing Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by applicable U.S. law and the laws of the State of New Hampshire, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us and attempt an informal resolution for at least 30 days. Unless applicable law requires otherwise, disputes will be brought in state or federal courts located in New Hampshire.

Changes and Severability

We may update this Legal page as products, providers, or laws change. Material changes will be identified by a new Last updated date and, when appropriate, additional notice. Changes apply prospectively unless law requires otherwise. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and applicable product notices form the agreement for the covered service.

Software Licensing

Each product identifies its license in its source repository, distribution, or product notice. Diskloom is released under the MIT License.
